Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana
CSC has recently entered into a strategic alliance with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) on February 28, with a focus on promoting the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar- Muft Bijli Yojana. Under this agreement, CSC's village-level entrepreneurs (VLEs) are poised to play a pivotal role in facilitating the registration process for the initiative of interested citizens. Through this scheme beneficiaries will get free electricity for up to 300 units. The central government will invest Rs 75,000 crore in this scheme. Besides, the government will also give subsidies to the beneficiaries to install solar panels on their rooftops. To reach potential beneficiaries, CSC VLEs will spearhead door-to-door campaigns, ensuring an inclusive and far-reaching impact. This initiative aims to proliferate the use of solar energy in households across the nation, oering a range of benefits, including increased income, reduced electricity bills, and the creation of new employment Opportunities. Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has urged all household consumers to actively participate and leverage the benefits of the PM Surya Ghar-Muft Bijli Yojana. CSC VLEs, particularly those engaged in collecting electricity bills, will be actively responsible for registering all genuine and interested families. The Ministry will compensate VLEs for each successful registration.
Subsequently, VLEs will handle the application process and receive additional remuneration for their eorts. This collaboration marks a significant step towards harnessing solar power for widespread socio-economic benefits.
